In August 2018, The Korean Food Globalization Committee Chicago began the first chapter. 

There are 21 Korean food councils in the world that are sponsored by Korean Food Promotion Institute under the umbrella of The Ministry for Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MIFAFF) in South Korea since 2010. The Chicago committee has accomplished advocating Korean Food and culture and supporting Korean restaurants in the Chicago area through Kimchi and Bibimbap performances at the Taste of Chicago, the Bryn Mawr Korean festival, and the Taste of Korea.
